Industrial production forms the foundation of prosperous economies. Yet, digitalization is lagging behind in many companies – both among factory operators and suppliers. This leads to lower efficiency, limited innovation capacity, and competitive disadvantages in the global market. Closing this gap requires new data-driven approaches that connect processes, products, and business models and make them future-proof.
Our solution
In the research project Factory-X We are developing a prototype data ecosystem for the factory of the future. The core goal is to create business applications that connect factory operators, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers and enable digital business models. The platform supports the implementation of use cases such as traceability and the circular economy, as well as the transformation from product-centric to value-based approaches.
This creates a digitally networked ecosystem that increases efficiency, ensures sustainability, and enhances competitiveness – scientifically sound, practical, and transferable to industry.
