At the beginning of January, the future Digital Retail Managers of PERFORM met for the Second time together at Linnaeus University in Sweden. Besides the two Ph.D. students of AWSi, Shubham Jain and Daniel Mora, the other 13 Ph.D. students of PERFORM also met there with the supervisors. In this occasion to address “Digital Business Models” in the Digital Retail context, giving a new perspective to the ESRs’ research.
Dr. Dirk Werth, who also supports the network as a supervisor of the two ESRs and is responsible for the work package “Digital Retail Technologies”, participated in the Supervisory Board Meeting and, also discussed the status of the project.
In the context of this event, the two AWSi-PhD students Shubham Jain and Daniel Mora presented their research topics.

- Thesis-in-3 Slam session where ESRs had to explain their Individual Research projects in three minutes.

Shubham Jain is working on the topic “Using Mixed Reality for Enhanced Product Experience” in the project investigating how the use of mixed reality technologies, e.g., Microsoft HoloLens, can improve the customer experience. More information about this project can be found here.
Daniel Mora is researching on the topic “Recommender Systems for a Connected Customer Journey”. He focuses on levering the concept of Omnichannel-based recommendation systems, and how it can be used and applied to the digital sales process of the retailers. Learn more about this project here.
The next PERFORM training will take place in June 2019 at JKU in Austria – followed by four more training sessions. The last meeting in June 2021 is also the closing event of PERFORM where the two AWSi-PhD students will present their results at a Digital Retail Conference.
